Rickshaw Reverie (Disco Rickshaw) is the second painting in my Naqsh-e-Safar series, and it holds a very special place in my heart. It’s inspired by all the rickshaw rides I’ve taken - those colorful, bumpy, joyful journeys through busy streets and quiet corners. I remember the painted flowers, the jingling decorations, and how each ride felt like a small adventure, whether I was laughing with friends or lost in my thoughts.
Through this piece, I celebrate the whimsy and wonder of daily commutes in the urban tapestry of Pakistan. Rickshaw Reverie traveled to Delhi for exhibition at AIFACS and carried with it the scent of nostalgia and the joy of shared heritage across borders.
